We got a chance to get to see an early screening of Birdman. It is one of the most talked about movies of the year so far and I was very excited to get to see it. And it delivered everything that was promised.

Andrea's Review of WhiplashExactly where is the line between genius and madness? Will having a dragon for a teacher force you to soar far beyond what you believe your limits to be, or will you be reduced to ashes? And how do you get audiences to take a jazz orchestra drummer seriously, in a film that takes place in the present day no less?
“Whiplash” tackles each of these questions and steadfastly declines to make it easy for its audience. What we witness is an unstoppable force meeting an immovable object. By the end we lose sight of which is which. Steve's Review of "Gone Girl"David Fincher is one of my favorite Directors and every one of his movies is an event. Even though it took me a while to see it I finally got around to seeing Gone Girl in the theatre. At 2 and half hours I thought it might be a long movie but it keeps you enthralled and the twists and turns keep you guessing. It doesn’t have that dark moody feel that Seven and Fight Club had but it is a dark psychological thriller.
Steve's Review of "Fury"I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I went to see Fury. I knew it was a war movie and it was going to be violent but other than that I haven't read much about it. It felt good going into a movie knowing very little and being surprised by it.
Chris' review of "Nightcrawler" with a great performance by Jake Gyllenhaal A video review of "St. Vincent" from Chris. Will it get Bill Murray an Oscar nomination? Check out Chris' video review of Witching and Bitching now on DVD and Streaming on Netflix. The closing night film at the Mikwaukee Film Festival was The Surface. It was a fitting movie because it was filmed entiry in and around Milwaukee. It employed a lot of the local film community as part of the crew. Not to mention that screenwriter Jeff Gendelman is from Milwaukee. So, what better place to have the world premiere then right here at the Milwaukee Film Festival.
