After covering both the Milwaukee Short Film Festival and the Milwaukee Short Festival we here at Milwaukee Movie Talk noticed that there were no film festivals in Milwaukee that catered to the horror crowd.  After talking about it to numerous people we decided if we want to have a horror film festival in Milwaukee we will have to do it ourselves.

Not knowing a whole lot about how to plan a film festival we sought the help of Ross Bigley at The Milwaukee Independent Film Society.  After having an initial meeting we realized that we can do this and it got us really energized.
We decided we wanted the festival in the spring to set it apart from all the horror themed festivals that happen in October.  This put a crunch time on our plans but so far we have made it worked.  The dates of the festival will be April 8th and 9th at the Underground Collaborative.

The goal of the festival is to show horror films from around the world both feature length and shorts.  We hope to have submissions from Milwaukee Filmmakers to show off the great local talent we have here.  We have invited local horror icons and hope to be able to make satisfy the horror aficionados during the spring lull of horror films.

We hope this is a huge success and want to have the festival return in future years.  Submissions are open if you want to submit your film and if anyone wants to be a sponsor we have different sponsor levels and anything you can do will be a great help.

I heard that a lot of great movies were able to be part of Milwaukee Short Film Festival. It was a good thing because the film festival, deserves to screen great movies. Hopefully, the deserving ones were able to bag an award! Most of the films are under the horror genre, which is a genre loved by many. If this is the case, I am sure that a lot of movie goers will surely make an effort for such festival. More horror movies means more profit to the producers!
