The Russo Brothers will be Directing The Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2

So some how a the Sony email hack got us some information about a Marvel movie.
The Russo Brothers who directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and will be directing Captain America: Civil war have long been rumored to be directing Avengers: Infinity War Part I and Part II.  Thank to the Sony hack it has now been confirmed.  In an email to Amy Pascal, the head of Sony, the brothers said they will be able to direct a movie for Sony called The Gray Man in between Civil War and Infinity War. This confirmation also means that Avengers: Age of Ultron will be the last Joss Whedon directed Avengers movie (at least for now, never say never).

Also in the emails they say they are sorry about Sony not being able to come to a deal with Marvel to let Spider-Man make an appearance in Civil War.  In the comics Spider-Man is a key part of the Civil War story line and a lot of fans were hoping to see him in the movie.  There are still rumors saying that talks are not completely done but it seems very unlikely that Sony would want to give up control of that franchise.

This was reported by a Portuguese Website Overtice. So any one that can read Portuguese give a glance and tell me if there is anything I am missing.

There really isn't a whole lot of new stuff here just confirmation of rumors.

Ryan Reynolds is coming back as Deadpool

Well its been 5 years since the somewhat forgettable X-Men Origins: Wolverine but everyone has been hoping for a Deadpool movie and looks like Ryan Reynolds is coming back to play him.  Reynolds has also played The Green Lantern which was a big dud and looks like any chance of him returning to that role in a Justice League movie is gone.
Reynolds was once looked at as an up and coming actor but he career never really took off.
Deadpool is scheduled to come out in February of 2016. The next X-Men movie X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled to come out in May of 2016
Are you excited for him to return as Deadpool?

Earlier this morning there was a big announcement about the new James Bond movie.
First announcement was that it was going to be called "Spectre"
The cast was then announced with included previously rumored Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser and Dave Bautista as Mr. Hinx an Oddjob like henchman.
Spectre will be familiar to longtime fans of Bond as an organization he faced many times in the early movies.  Rumor has it that Waltz is actually playing the leader of that origination Blofeld but as of now that is unconfirmed.
Also added to the cast are Monica Bellucci and Lea Seydoux as the new 'Bond girls', named Lucia Sciarra and Madeleine Swann respectively.
They of course will be joining Daniel Craig who returns as Bond and director Sam Mendes.

After lots of rumors it is official. Benedict Cumberbatch will be Dr. Strange in the Marvel movie.  Previously rumored Joaquin Phoenix passed on it and Josh Brolin, Jared Leto, and Tom Hardy were also rumored (oddly enough Jared Leto and Tom Hardy will be working together on DC Comic's The Suicide Squad).  Cumberbatch was rumored to be high on Marvel's list and now he has officially signed a deal.
Currently Cumberbatch is getting lots of Oscar talk for his role in The Imitation Game.

2014 National Board of Review Awards

And just when you thought we were getting an idea what the front runners were going to be at this year the National Board of Review shakes things up.  How much of a shakeup is to be determined.  But by choosing A Most Violent Year it catapults it into likely nomination.  Only 1 film in the last 8 years won Best Film at the NBR and wasn’t nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars and that was Quills in 2000.  Another surprising choice was Clint Eastwood getting Best Director for American Sniper.  That is one that seemed to be off the radar and relegated to good not great status.  And I bet no one saw The Lego Movie getting Best Screenplay, but still losing Best Animated Feature.

Two movies that were shut out were Foxcatcher which has been in Oscar talk all year and Selma which has recently been getting lots of buzz (Selma did get a special recognition award but not the same as being listed in the Top 10).  Another movie not listed that could hurt its chances at an Oscar nomination is Interstellar.

Tell us your thoughts.

The Hollywood Reporter broke the news today that Warner Brother has finally found their woman to direct Wonder Woman. That woman is Michelle MacLaren who is best know for directing TV shows like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad.  That's a pretty good pedigree of TV shows but can she tackle a big budget super hero movie?
What are your thoughts?
Gal Gadot of the Fast and Furious franchise has already been cast as Wonder Woman and the tentative release date is in 2017.
