When they first announced a new Terminator movie I just rolled my eyes. Then they announced the name "Terminator: Genisys" and it seemed silly to misspell genesis. Now we have the first trailer and it makes no sense. I get they didn't want to give too much of the plot away but I feel what they did just confused everything. The one thing about time travel movies is that you can easily reboot the franchise while at the same time acknowledging the originals. Both Star Trek and X-Men did that and now it appears that Terminator will be doing the same thing.
