The legendary actor Gunnar Hansen who made Leatherface an iconic horror icon died yesterday from Pancreatic Cancer.
Hansen who auditioned for the The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on whim turned Leatherface into one of the most disturbing characters in cinema history. He had studied Math and English in college planned to become a writer but after the success of the movie he continued to make appearances in horror movies. But he continued to write for magazines and even wrote a few screenplays.
By all accounts he was a nice man and nothing like his character. He will be missed.
