“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with legendary filmmaker Joe Dante,” says Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Senior Vice President of Acquisitions for the Image brands. “He brings a unique vision and style to ‘Burying the Ex’. We are confident that his fans and the genre community will embrace the film.”
Read the press release from Image Entertainment. Burying The Ex is legendary director Joe Dante's (Gremlins, Innerspace, Explorers) latest fantasy film. Dante's last film, The Hole saw limited release here in the states in 2009.
When Max (Yelchin) learns that his new live-in girlfriend, Evelyn (Greene) is controlling and manipulative, he is afraid to end the relationship. However, fate occurs and Evelyn is killed in a freak accident. A couple months have passed and Max meets his dream girl, Olivia (Daddario). The new romance gets tricky when Evelyn comes back from the grave and insists on continuing their once relationship by all means.
Like The Hole, this saw wide release overseas last year. We will see Burying the Ex invade VoD and home video later this summer.
This begs the question, what happened to Joe Dante?
