In a surprising movie Sony has dropped the Aaron Sorkin written Steve Jobs movie. There has been lots of buzz surrounding the movie with high profile directors and actors all rumored to be attached. Sorkin the Oscar winning screenwriter of The Social Network has written a 188 page script that takes place on three days on Steve Jobs life. The days the Mac, NeXT, and Ipod were launched.
At first it looked liked Sorkin would re-team with The Social Network director David Fincher but Danny Boyle (127 Hours) is currently set to direct. As far as who will play Steve Jobs there has been lots of rumors and at one point Christian Bale was set to be in it but he dropped out. Current rumor is Michael Fassbender is in the running. But with Sony dropping the movie everything is up in the air.
It looks like Universal might be picking it up so hopefully it keeps up the momentum and will get made. Stay tuned.
