Welcome to the first (and hopefully) annual FBOMB Awards. The goal is to give Milwaukee a chance to voice their opinions about movies. Since this is our first year it has been like pulling teeth to get people to vote and hopefully next year it will be easier.
We asked local film bloggers and critics to vote in 14 different categories. We assigned a point value based on the ranking of the films and the movies with the most points receive the FBOMB Award. We will announce the winner and runner up in each category except Best Picture where we will announce the top 5. We also asked for their suggestions for other categories we should have and we will share some of those and consider adding them for next year. There were some tight races and a few ties.
Here is the official list of winners.

The Top Five Vote Getters for Best Picture
1. Birdman
2. Guardians of the Galaxy
3. Gone Girl
4. Whiplash
5. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Snowpiercer (tie)
The top five are an eclectic group and there was a tie for the 5th spot so there are actually 6 movies on the list. Birdman didn’t make every list but ranked high on the ones it did make. Guardians of the Galaxy the much loved blockbuster made almost every list to so even though no one picked it at number 1 it managed to jump into the second spot. I think the list is a good representation of the year.
