Big news today for Hunger Games fans. The last Hunger Game movie will go where no other Hunger Games has gone before, into 3D. The first 2 Hunger Games movies had IMAX releases but no 3D. (Mockingjay Part 1 did not have an IMAX release because Interstellar had all the IMAX screens). But Mockingjay Part 1 was released in 3D in China and apparently Director Francis Lawrence saw it and loved it. Despite Part 1 being the biggest movie of 2014 it did not do as much business as the first two movies. My guess is they are hopping the 3D brings more people in and will help boost the final gross.
In other news Lionsgate said they are looking for way to expand The Hunger Games universe. Maybe having more sequels or perhaps prequels.
Why do fans think? This good idea or just Lionsgate trying to milk more money from the franchise.
