In the wake of the success of The Lego Movie we have seen some crazy ideas for movies get green lit.
Last week we saw that Sony paid a large sum of money to acquire rights for an Emoji movie? What exactly will that be we have no idea. Today we got news that there is a Pez movie in development.
Emoji are just random facial characters and Pez are candy with unique dispensers both have no story elements to them. But Lego's didn't either and they somehow made that work. If Pez is able to use some of the licensed characters that their dispensers have used then that is a distinct advantage that The Lego Movie used also.
Besides these two movies there are rumors that a Monopoly movie and a Peeps movie are in development.
Anyone have any thoughts on this.
